How to make a resistor adapter

Resistor adapters are known to help up the impedance of headphones to help improve sound, remove hiss etc. A lot of people have asked me how to do it, and even more people have asked if I can do it for them. I keep telling them it's easy as 1-2-3, but no one believes me, so here's a short (very short) tutrial on how to make this easy adapter.

You need: Soldering iron and solder Electrical tape (or preferablyheatshrink if you have that) A 3.5mm audio extension cable Two resistors, 40-80 should do (i use 150 as thats what i had around)

Note that in the video, ground is the blue wire - that one is not supposed to have a resistor connected. The colors of wires vary with the cable you have, but normally the left and whitechannel is white and red, while the fround is either not insulated at all, or have some random color.

This video is made quickly and just to show how it's done, hence why I dont take my time doing anything perfect. You dont need me to tell you how to be more accurate, you just need me to tell you how to do it t all. The last few secs of the video shows another similar adapter i made using more time and heatshrink. here you can find even more versions of this adapter, made more compact (but harder to do). The video shows how to do it using as few materials as possible and as fast as possible. For the record, when the wire goes off screen and comes back de-insulated, thats my teeth at work.
